KIARRA JONES LUTHERAN EAST -- GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL
In a late-season matchup against Bloomfield on Oct. 18, Jones was instrumental in the Falcons' 3- 1 win. Jones, a 5-foot-7 setter, made plays all over the court, setting a school record with 35 assists. The promising junior also recorded nine service points, three aces and four kills. The performance was no surprise for anyone who has followed Jones as earlier in the season, she had 88 assists in one week of play, and set the previous single-game record for assists with 28 against Hathaway Brown on Sept. 25.

JOHN PETTIGREW CUYAHOGA VALLEY CHRISTIAN -- FOOTBALL
Defenses knew they would have to game plan for the talented senior back, after he began the year with a 116-yard, one-touchdown performance against Warren John F. Kennedy on Aug. 22. Despite the extra attention, Pettigrew continued to exasperate the opposition, racking up 2,072 rushing yards and 23 scores in the regular season, to help the Royals to a 9-1 record and a share of the Principals' Athletic Conference title. Pettigrew tallied a season-high 315 yards against Triway on Sept. 19.
