The Steelers' won the Super Bowl in dramatic fashion thanks to a late drive engineered by Ben Roethlisberger. Santonio Holmes was brilliant down the stretch as Pittsburgh got its sixth Super Bowl championship.

Rafael Nadal won the Australian Open men's singles title. He beat Roger Federer in a five-set thriller that lasted over four hours. Pretty impressive considering Nadal played over five hours in the semifinal.

Serena Williams won the Australian Open women's singles title, beating Dinara Safina in straight sets in the final. It was the 10th grand slam singles championship for Serena. She also won the doubles title with her sister, Venus.

The newest class into the Pro Football Hall of Fame was announced: Bob Hayes, Randall McDaniel, Bruce Smith, Derrick Thomas, Rod Woodson and Ralph Wilson.

Curlin was named Horse of the Year for the second straight time.

The Celtics have won 11 straight games.

STOCK DOWN

Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett was fined by the team due to his presence in a rap video that contained profanity and used derogatory language towards blacks and gays.

Phil Mickelson missed the cut at the FBR Open, which was virtually in his own backyard.

The Los Angeles Clippers have lost five games in a row.

The Vancouver Canucks have three wins in their last 16 games.
