Cook was named a preseason All-State selection after guiding the Stags to their ninth WCAC title in 2008. The George Mason-bound shortstop collected four RBIs and laced a triple in the title contest.

Leemhuis was named a Louisville Slugger preseason All-American. Last spring, he led St. John's to 20 wins, hitting .355 with 20 RBIs and 16 steals. He also earned his second straight All-WCAC first team nod.

Bowman broke out with a 12-strikeout performance in the semifinals of the D.C. Baseball Classic last year. Fans can expect more of the same this spring as he will serve as St. Albans'ace in his final year.

The Spartans should prove to be a tough out come tourney time with Kent on the mound. Kent was named the Patriot District's Pitcher of the Year after racking up 15 wins last year.

Coach's Take

"He's nasty. He seems like a kid who really wants the ball. He can have a dominating fastball. His breaking stuff is filthy. He spots well. I was really impressed with him last year."
