WASHINGTON -- Washington Capitals captain Chris Clark played for the first time since January, taking the place of suspended enforcer Donald Brashear for Tuesday night's Game 7 against the New York Rangers.
Brashear was suspended six games by the NHL for two separate incidents in Game 6.
Clark had not played since Jan. 27 because of a wrist injury.
For the Rangers, forward Artem Anisimov played in his second career NHL game. He took the place of center Blair Betts, who has a broken orbital bone in his eye socket from the hit that accounted for five games of Brashear's six-game suspension.
Anisimov made his league debut Feb. 3 against Atlanta.
