Beasley had missed the first two games of the season because of unresolved NCAA academic eligibility issues.
The return of Beasley is critical as the Longhorns prepare to play the Red Raiders, who lead the nation with an average of 456.5 passing yards per game. Texas Tech quarterback Taylor Potts leads the nation with nine touchdown passes.
Beasley made nine starts for the Longhorns last season, notching 40 tackles, six pass deflections and three tackles for losses. He notched a career-high nine tackles against Texas Tech last season.
Texas officials announced they have no update on the status of safety Christian Scott or wide receiver Brandon Collins, who also have missed the first two games because of the unresolved NCAA academic issues.
