Irvin's dance partner sees his competitive spirit
While Michael Irvin was busy talking to Earl Campbell and completing his radio show on 103.3 ESPN at Go Fish Ocean Club in Dallas on Thursday, his Dancing With the Stars partner was waiting patiently so the duo could get back to the dance studio.
Anna (she pronounces it Ahn-ya) Demidova, 21, said she saw Irvin's competitive fire after the judges gave him a 13 following his first dance.
"He said we would sleep in the studio after that," Demidova said. "And we're there all the time. He's committed to the rehearsals. When he's not doing the radio show or other things, he's dancing."
Demidova said Irvin has shown improvement each week and that he's picked up the steps quicker with each rehearsal. She's taught all kinds of people with various dance abilities and said that Irvin has a natural rhythm, it's just a matter of continuing to get better.
"He has a chance of going a long way," said Demidova, who is teaching Irvin the samba for next week's show. "But the show isn't just about dancing. It's about the votes. I think he's shown the most improvement. He went from a 13 to a 20 and hopefully we can keep going."
