Fumble proves costly for Longhorns

AUSTIN -- Colt McCoy fumbled as he was sacked late in the first half and Colorado cashed in to take a 14-3 lead with less than three minutes left in the half.

Marcus Burton caused the fumble deep in Texas territory and Jimmy Smith picked it up and returned it to the 6-yard line. One play later, Cody Hawkins tossed a pass to tight end Riar Geer for the touchdown.

It's left the crowd of more than 101,000 in Austin relatively silent.
