Cedar Hill looks mortal against Plano West

CARROLLTON -- Cedar Hill (11-0), The Associated Press' top-ranked Class 5A team, broke to an early 21-7 lead in its Division II Region I contest against Plano West.

It seemed as if Cedar Hill was on its way to another in a recent string of lopsided victories. The Longhorns outscored their last five opponents, 288-68.

But Plano West fought back, pulling within 21-16 at halftime.

The Longhorns reestablished control by snuffing Plano West's first possession of the second half, setting up a 41-yard touchdown run by Mason Hayes on its first offensive play en route to a 31-22 bi-strict win.
