Tebow, Kildow top Academic team

ESPN.com

Tim Tebow has been named the Academic All-America of the Year for the second straight season.

Tebow, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from the University of Florida, leads the University Division team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. He carries at 3.66 grade point average as a family, youth and communication studies major.

Wide receiver Beau Kildow of Morningside College (Iowa) is the College Division Academic All-America of the Year. Kildow is a 4.0 student in chemistry and biology.

The award is sponsored by COSIDA and ESPN The Magazine.

Tebow is one of five repeat picks on the 24-member University Division team. He's joined by junior running back Kyle Minett of South Dakota State, senior defensive lineman Brandon Wingeier of Dayton, senior linebacker Josh Hull of Penn State and senior defensive back Beau Hadley of Weber State.

Penn State has three members of the first team, including Hull, graduate student Andrew Pitz and junior Stefen Wisniewski. Pitz and Wisniewski are offensive linemen.

Texas has two players on the first team -- graduate student Adam Ulatowski, an offensive lineman, and junior defensive lineman Sam Acho.

Kildow, who plays at NAIA Morningside, is joined by four repeat selections on the College Division team -- offensive linemen Marcus Greatens of Winona State, Brian Monaco of Hobart and Blaine Westemeyer of Augustana (Ill.), and linebacker Lee Sasala of Case Western Reserve.
