Stars trail Sharks after two, 2-0
DALLAS -- The San Jose Sharks scored twice in the period to take the lead heading into the third period.
Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau accounted for the goals. Marleau's goal was scored with less than three minutes left in the period. Stars defenseman Nicklas Grossman had trouble handling the puck after it hit him in the chest and the Sharks' top line took advantage. Joe Thornton, the NHL scoring leader, grabbed the puck and passed to Marleau, who went high on Stars goalie Marty Turco.
Dallas had some chances. Steve Ott has hit a post and missed on a breakaway attempt. Jamie Benn, James Neal and Brenden Morrow have had a few opportunities, but haven't been able to cash in either.
