One good sign from Sunday's loss?
It was certainly a mixed bag for the Stars in Sunday's 2-0 loss to Columbus. They still had some issues getting the puck out of the defensive zone and into Columbus ice and they couldn't take advantage of some great scoring chances.
But there was one very good sign from the loss: Marty Turco. The Stars' goalie has really struggled recently and he was at his best on Sunday. He made 39 of 41 saves, cleaning up several defensive messes by teammates in front of him and keeping his team in it until the very end. That's the kind of thing that hasn't been happening.
The loss hurts. And the Stars still have a tough road ahead if they want to make the playoffs. But if they don't get good goaltending, there isn't any way they're going to make it -- no matter how many goals they may score.
If the Stars continue to get scoring chances, they'll start putting the puck in the net. What matters is that Turco gets on a run and keept them in games consistently. Let's see if he can build of Sunday's performance and play well Tuesday in Philadelphia and Thursday in Montreal.
