Former DePaul star Tyrone Corbin said Wednesday he is interested in the Blue Demons head-coaching job, but probably won't talk with school officials until after the season.
Corbin, an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz, told the Deseret News of Salt Lake City that he has "talked with some people from the school but not the school itself."
DePaul fired Jerry Wainwright on Jan. 11 and replaced him with interim coach Tracy Webster.
Corbin played for DePaul from 1981-85 before going on to a 15-year NBA playing career. He has never been a head coach but has interviewed for jobs with three NBA teams in the past, including the Chicago Bulls before the 2008-09 season.
Corbin told the paper he will be patient during the process.
"I'll look at it," Corbin said. "I mean, I went there. I'm connected. But we'll see. It's kind of early."
