Ever since the draw for the World Cup finals was made, fans and pundits alike have studied the draw and each team's possible path to emerge as champion. The draw threw up the usual mixture of groups, some that appear done and dusted before a ball has been kicked and others that are extremely tough to call. This is where you come in.

Our World Cup Bracket Predictor gives you the chance to map out the whole tournament. It's your call to determine which nations will make it through each group right through to the final. Points will be awarded for every correct prediction, with more points up for grabs as the finals progress. But the fun doesn't stop there. It's not simply a case of trying your luck and checking back to see how you've done. As with all our fantasy games, you can challenge your friends and/or colleagues in minileagues and see who comes out on top for the bragging rights.

So what tactics are you going to use? Go with the favorites? Or look for the shocks? The past two World Cups have thrown up results from the opposite ends of the spectrum. The 2002 tournament, in Japan and South Korea, was full of upsets. Take France, for example, which failed to get out of a group that contained Senegal, Uruguay and Denmark.
