Leigh Bodden to visit with Texans
By Mike Reiss
Cornerback Leigh Bodden traveled to Houston on Sunday for a free-agent visit with the Texans.
"I think it's great having a team like the Houston Texans being interested in me," Bodden told Fox 26 in Houston. "I'm just going to go here, meet the coaches, and hopefully everything goes good."
Of the free-agent process, he said: "It's kind of nerve-wracking. It is what it is. It's part of the business. Hopefully I can get things done with the Texans and just move on."
Bodden's agent, Alvin Keels, has spoken with the Texans, Seahawks and Steelers regarding Bodden in the first few days of free agency. The Patriots are still in the discussions and have expressed interest in Bodden's return.
The visit to Houston is Bodden's first of free agency.
With Dunta Robinson signing with the Falcons, Bodden is one of the top cornerbacks remaining on the market. He doesn't figure to command Robinson-type money (approximately $9 million per season), but could be in the $5 million-per-season range.
In his only season in New England, Bodden tied for the team lead with five interceptions.
