It took 45 years (okay, more like 18 hours) to get here from the west coast, but we finally made it to Tignes, France for the first Winter X outside of the States. As soon as the jet lag subsides and the grooming equipment is functioning properly, we'll be bringing you daily updates from Les Alps.
For now we can tell you that the slope course is beastly (six jumps and three rail features), the temps are, too (it was -2 degrees Fahrenheit this morning), and elite riders are showing up by the busload (save for a number of Arctic Challengers). Scotty Lago and Gretchen Bleiler have pulled out of the comp, but 30 other other Olympians are scheduled to compete.
Pipe and slope practice are scheduled for Monday, so stay tuned.
