The Chicago Blackhawks' Marian Hossa was a surprise scratch for Sunday's game against the Washington Capitals with what was described as an upper-body injury.
Hossa played 18:08 on Saturday in a 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, including the final four seconds of the game while showing no outward signs of suffering a new injury.
An upper-body ailment also shelved Kim Johnsson for Sunday's game. Johnsson played only 10:02 on Saturday with his last shift coming with 13:48 left in the third period.
