Savard to make first public statement
By Joe McDonald
Boston Bruins center Marc Savard will speak publicly for the first time since he suffered a Grade 2 concussion against the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 7.
Savard will address the media at noon on Saturday at TD Garden. He will be joined by Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli.
Bruins coach Claude Julien gave his daily update on Savard after the team practiced Friday morning at Ristuccia Arena.
"He's slowly doing better," Julien said. "That's all we have now in his situation. It's obviously a pretty serious concussion, but he is improving, probably at a snail's pace. He is getting better."
