LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Dodgers officially placed Rafael Furcal on the 15-day disabled list with a mild left hamstring strain and called up Nick Green from Triple-A Albuquerque rather than Chin-lung Hu to take his place on the roster.
Furcal will be eligible to come off the DL on May 13. Cory Wade was moved to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Green on the 40-man roster.
Furcal hasn't played since last Tuesday, when he injured himself running out a double-play grounder in the opener of a doubleheader against the New York Mets. He is hitting .309 with six RBIs in 19 games.
Furcal is on the DL for the third time in the last four seasons. He missed nearly five months after back surgery in 2008 and was out two weeks in 2007 with a sprained left knee.
Green is with his seventh different organization in the last eight years.
Green entered the Dodgers' game against the Brewers on Tuesday as a pinch hitter, striking out in an 11-6 loss.Jon Weisman, author of ESPNLosAngeles.com's Dodger Thoughts blog, contributed to this report.
