IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves, who won the fifth season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," said ESPN personality Erin Andrews still has a shot at winning the title, even though she's not the favorite of the three finalists.
"She needs to just let herself go tonight," said Castroneves, who won with professional dancer Julianne Hough in the fall 2007. "What's the worst she can do? Finish third? She needs to take risks."
Monday is the final dance episode of the 10th season of the show, with figure skater Evan Lysacek and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, along with Andrews, dancing in front of three judges and millions of television viewers. The results show is Tuesday.
Lysacek and Scherzinger have been 1-2 pretty much all season. But, Castroneves said, it's not over.
He has been impressed by Andrews' determination, along with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. He didn't know who Andrews was, thinking "she was a model or something."
"But her personality has come out and she's really funny," Castroneves said. "I was shy before the show too. The only thing about dancing I knew was going to Carnaval [in my home country of Brazil], and putting my index fingers in the air to dance."
Castroneves said Andrews has another factor to help her in garnering the public's vote: "Erin should use the power of ESPN. That brand can help her win the title. My only advice: You go, girl!"
