New England Patriots Pro Bowl offensive lineman Logan Mankins does not plan to attend voluntary organized team activities without a new contract, his agent told Tom E. Curran of Comcast Sports Net on Monday.

Mankins' agent, Frank Bauer, also told Curran that no progress was being made at this time on a new deal.

Mankins is a restricted free agent who was tendered at the highest level, at $3.26 million.

Mankins, who signed a five-year contract as a rookie in 2005, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this year. But his situation was altered by the change to an uncapped environment, as players with four and five years of experience reverted to restricted free agent status.

Mankins wasn't expected to attend organized team activities since they are voluntary and he has been staying away from voluntary workouts.

A key checkpoint with Mankins will be if he skips the team's mandatory minicamp June 15-17.
