Report: Landis hires legal team
NEW YORK -- The New York Daily News is reporting Floyd Landis has hired the same law firm that represented fellow cyclist Greg LeMond in a couple of lawsuits.
Mark Handfelt, a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, told the Daily News Sunday night that the firm was representing Landis.
Landis has admitted to doping throughout his career and alleged that seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong also was involved. In a series of e-mails sent to sponsors and sports officials, Landis also alleged Armstrong taught others how to beat the system and paid the former president of the International Cycling Union to keep a failed test quiet.
Messages were left by The Associated Press on Monday seeking comment from the law firm.
