Jimmy Fitzpatrick still hard at work

With X Games 16 Best Trick less then a month away (16 days to be exact), Metal Mulisha rider Jimmy Fitzpatrick is still hard at work perfecting the front flip, as well as a secret front flip combination -- tricks that could win the hungry X Games newcomer a medal if everything falls into place. Last month, ESPN.com/Action contributor Chris Tedesco visited the Metal Mulisha Compound, checking in on Fitz during his early days of experimentation with the trick. At the time, he had a long way to go to perfect the unnatural rotation, but with each passing day Fitz has been improving his take on the difficult trick.

Just last week, after a grueling day of riding at his riding facility dubbed "Fitzland," Fitzpatrick decided to hit up his foam pit to pop off a few more front flip attempts before the sun checked out. ESPN's Cliff Talley was on hand to document the action, as well as get a firsthand rundown from the man himself. As far as we know, Fitz has yet to take the trick to dirt. However, in Arizona, X Games 15 front flipping sensation and X Games 16 Best Trick invite Paris Rosen has perfected the ramp-to-dirt front flip, supposedly riding away from 13 consecutive 73-foot front flips this past Monday. Looks like XG16 is shaping up to be another nail biter!
