ST. LOUIS -- Los Angeles Dodgers left fielder Manny Ramirez left Friday night's 8-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals after the top of the first inning with tightness in his right calf, the same type of injury that led to the first of his two disabled-list stints this season from April 23 to May 8.

"We'll find out more [Saturday]," Dodgers manager Joe Torre said. "He felt it loosening up before the game. He put, I guess it was a sock on it or something, just to hold it, but I don't think that did anything. It was just some tightness, and he didn't think much of it. But when he went out to the outfield, it got tight on him, so he came out.''

Ramirez is listed as day to day, but it appears unlikely he will play on Saturday.

"That is what I would guess, but we'll just have to see," Torre said.

Ramirez had been activated from the 15-day disabled list for the second time this season on Thursday after he spent two weeks sidelined with a right-hamstring strain.

Ramirez drew a five-pitch walk from Cardinals rookie left-hander Jaime Garcia in the top of the first inning, but never advanced from first base. He was replaced in left field by Xavier Paul in the bottom of the inning.
