CHICAGO -- Marty Reasoner's stay with the Chicago Blackhawks didn't even last a month as the veteran center was traded to the Florida Panthers for center Jeff Taffe on Thursday.
The 29-year-old Jaffe had a goal and an assist in 21 games with the Panthers last season. He has 21 goals and 23 assists over parts of seven seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes (2002-04, 2005, 2006-07), New York Rangers (2005), Pittsburgh Penguins (2007-09) and Florida (2009-10).
Reasoner, 33, was acquired by the Blackhawks as part of the trade that sent Dustin Byfuglien, Brent Sopel and Ben Eager to the Atlanta Thrashers on June 24.
Reasoner was slated to earn $1.2 million in 2010-11, according to the players' union. He leaves without playing a game for Chicago.Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
