WVU: Huggins out of Vegas hospital news services

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University says men's basketball coach Bob Huggins has been released from a Las Vegas hospital.

The university says Huggins was released Wednesday. He had been hospitalized since breaking seven ribs in a fall in his hotel room on Friday while in Nevada on a recruiting trip.

Mountaineers assistant Billy Hahn told's Andy Katz on Tuesday that Huggins broke ribs "three through nine" when he lost his balance and fell, hitting a coffee table.

Huggins, 56, was in his hotel room packing to leave for the airport Friday when he tripped on something on the floor and slammed into a coffee table.

Huggins' brother, Larry, came to his aid after he fell, Hahn said.

Information from senior writer Andy Katz and The Associated Press was used in this report.
