Torii Hunter ejected for arguing

Associated Press

DETROIT -- Los Angeles Angels outfielder Torii Hunter was ejected in the eighth inning of Friday night's game with the Detroit Tigers for arguing a called strike and then threw a bag of balls on the field.

Hunter was called out on strikes by umpire Ron Kulpa and began arguing vehemently. Manager Mike Scioscia came out to get between Hunter and Kulpa and they continued the exchange with Scioscia between them.

Hunter went to the dugout after being ejected and Scioscia continued to argue with Kulpa. Hunter then threw a ball bag onto the field and Scioscia was then tossed.

Hunter homered in the first inning.
