SAN DIEGO -- Bears second-team quarterback Caleb Hanie left the game Saturday night after being driven to the turf while attempting to roll out to his left on a play in the third quarter.

Hanie fumbled the ball on the play and stayed down before eventually walking off the field under his own power. The quarterback was then quickly escorted to the locker room by members of the Bears training staff.

Hanie suffered a right shoulder injury, but the seriousness of the injury is not yet determined, according to Bears' coach Lovie Smith.

For the most part, Hanie performed well against San Diego, completing 10 of 17 passes for 148 yards and a 7-yard touchdown strike to receiver Devin Aromashodu. Hanie was also intercepted once, and finished with an 82.5 quarterback rating.

In addition to Hanie, the Bears suffered numerous injuries Saturday night, including rookie safety Major Wright (finger), linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer and safety Craig Steltz (ankle).
