Sources: Hiroki Kuroda close to deal
ESPN.com news services
Right-hander Hiroki Kuroda and the Los Angeles Dodgers are close to finalizing a one-year, $12 million deal, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.
Kuroda was 11-13 with a 3.39 ERA this season, his third with the Dodgers.
Kuroda was on the disabled list a total of three times in his first two seasons, including once after taking a line drive off the right side of his head that hit so hard it caromed all the way into the front row of the stands. But this past season, he not only avoided the DL, he didn't miss a start, and had a 2.57 ERA in the second half of the season.
The former Hiroshima Toyo Carp star signed a three-year deal with the Dodgers in 2008 for $35.3 million.
