Fred's voice has been heard as Public Address Announcer for the Chicago Ravens Women's Softball team, the Chicago Cheetahs Roller Hockey team at the UIC Pavilion, and as fill-in PA announcer for the Chicago Wolves at the Rosemont Horizon/Allstate Arena.
Fred hosted a weekend sports talk show on WMAQ in 1988 before the station went to its All-News format.
In 1992, Fred joined WSCR as a part-time producer. He quickly added sports updates and reporting to his list of responsibilities.
Fred became co-host/sidekick for the Mike Murphy show on WSCR, which became the "Murph and Fred Show", after moving to morning drive.
Fred hosted The Score's NFL Pre-game show Sunday mornings for seven seasons with several former Chicago Bears players including Raymont Harris, Joe Cain, Al Harris and Dave Duerson, as well as NFL experts Steve Silverman and Hub Arkush.
Fred continued in the mornings with a similar role on the "Mike North Morning Show" from 2004 through 2008.
Along the way, Fred hosted a National weekend show for One On One Sports, which later became Sporting News radio, provided NFL Divisional reports for Westwood One's weekly football preview show syndicated around the country for five seasons, and co-hosted the "Webby & Freddy Show" weekdays on the short lived Chicago Sports Webio.
Fred was the television play-by-play voice of the Chicago Fire soccer team from 2007 through the 2009 season.
Fred currently resides in Downers Grove with his wife, Patricia.
