|Henry takes bronze at the 2006 X Games SuperMoto event.|
Former AMA Motocross champion and X Games gold medalist, Doug Henry, lost his Torrington, Conn. home to a fire on Wednesday, according to local news outlet WTNH.
Nobody was injured in the fire as Henry was in California attending the annual Day in the Dirt event at Pala Raceway and his family was not home at the time. According to WTNH, the local fire chief said it was originally called in as a brush fire. Henry's home, situated on a hilltop with a long driveway, was difficult to track and firefighters arrived 20-30 minutes after the initial call.
Henry, the 2005 X Games SuperMoto gold medalist, broke his back racing SuperMoto in 2007 and is confirmed to compete in the Snowmobile Adaptive Snocross event at Winter X Games 15 in January.
Donations can be made through the Road 2 Recovery foundation, a 501-(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping injured professional motocross athletes. Click here to access the page that has been set up for the Henry family.
