An NFL hat trick and the big ticket punches in

NFL: Chargers 34, 49ers 7. In just his third game back with the Chargers, Vincent Jackson caught a career-high three touchdown passes, proving he might almost be worth the headache he caused the city of San Diego. If the AFC West-leading Chiefs lose one of their last two and the Chargers win against the bumbling Bengals and disastrous Denver, San Diego will win the division title for the fifth straight time.

NBA: Celtics 102, Hawks 90. Kevin Garnett put up 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Celtics to their 12th straight win. Garnett was one of three Boston players with a double double on the night.

Spurs 113, Nuggets 112. It came down to the wire in Denver but San Antonio eked by with a one-point win. The loss was just the Nuggets' second in 13 games at the Pepsi Center.

Women's college volleyball: Penn State 3, Texas 0. The Nittany Lions advanced to their fourth straight NCAA final appearance with a 3-0 victory over the Longhorns. Cal 3, USC 0,Tarah Murrey had 23 kills to lead the Golden Bears over the Trojans and on to the national championship.

Women's college basketball: DePaul 91, Stanford 71. DePaul avoided witnessing a third women's coach celebrate an 800th victory, rocking Stanford by 20 points Thursday night. Stanford's Tara VanDerveer could've followed in the steps of Pat Summitt and C. Vivian Stringer, winning her 800th career game against the Blue Demons, but she fell short.
