PITTSBURGH -- Cornerback Chris Gamble has an ankle injury and is sidelined for the Carolina Panthers' game in Pittsburgh, giving Captain Munnerlyn his fifth consecutive start.

Carolina also held out wide receiver Armanti Edwards, safety Gerald Alexander, cornerback R.J. Stanford, fullback Tony Fiammetta, center Chris Moore and defensive tackle Ed Johnson for Thursday night's game.

Pittsburgh didn't activate running back Jonathan Dwyer, offensive tackles Chris Scott and Tony Hills, defensive tackle Steve McLendon, wide receiver Arnaz Battle and defensive end Aaron Smith.
