"Pro Town: Greenville," the new documentary from producer Mark Losey, held its worldwide premiere Friday night in Greenville, N.C. and the hosting/filming duo of Leigh Ramsdell and Will Stroud were on hand to capture the event.
The film, a documentary featuring interviews with BMX pros in the Greenville, N.C. area, depicts how the town grew into a BMX mecca for pros throughout the world. The movie includes current and archival footage and photographs, plus interviews with Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, Colin Mackay, Ryan Guettler, Rob Darden, Allan Cooke, Josh Harrington, and many more. A chapter of the documentary is also devoted to Greenville resident Colin Winkelmann, who took his own life in 2005. Throughout the film, the spirit of Colin's influence is celebrated, and it's a touching reminder of his amazing spirit as a generous human being and pro BMXer.
Naturally, the premiere was a good time for all that attended, and Losey was on it enough to have the premiere coincide with the actual release of the DVD, which you can purchase on the Pro Town Web site for $17.99 plus shipping. "Pro Town: Greenville" is also available through Albe's, Dan's Comp and Staff BMX, and internationally though distributors listed on the Pro Town Web site.
