Darrell Williams to be tried for rape
STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State basketball player Darrell Williams will stand trial on rape and other felony charges alleging he inappropriately touched two female students, a judge said.
Payne County Special Judge Michael Stano issued his ruling Monday and set a May 13 trial before District Judge Phillip Corley. Williams has pleaded not guilty and remains free on bond.
Two women said during Monday's hearing that the 21-year-old Williams reached into their pants against their will during a December party.
Prosecutors initially charged Williams with three counts of rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual battery. Stano allowed a fourth count of rape by instrumentation to be added Monday.
Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford suspended Williams after the player was charged Feb. 7.
