Caster Semenya slated for Prefontaine
JOHANNESBURG -- Caster Semenya's manager says the 800-meter world champion will compete at the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League meet on June 4.
Jukka Harkonen says Semenya will return to the top circuit in Eugene, Oregon, and is also hoping to run at the Bislett Games in Oslo five days later, although he says that has yet to be confirmed.
Harkonen adds the 20-year-old Semenya -- who won the 800 and 1,500 at the South African nationals on Sunday -- will make her first appearance outside her home country this season at the IAAF World Challenge meet in Dakar, Senegal, on May 28.
Semenya began the buildup to her season with an impressive double in Durban after shaking off a back injury.
