See ya, Phil.
Yes, as far as we know, Phil Jackson, 65, has coached the Los Angeles Lakers for the last time and perhaps coached his last game period Sunday, when the Lakers were mutilated by the Dallas Mavericks 122-86 in a sweep of the second-round NBA playoffs mismatch.
As for Jackson, it doesn't matter how bad this lost may have been. He certainly is one of the NBA's all-time greatest coaches, and many believe he is the best.
"It's been a wonderful run," he said as he plotted his return to his home state of Montana.
Serious discussions of his accomplishments will take place everywhere this week. Everywhere but here. We want something different from you. We want your ideas for this week's reader-generated list:
"Top 10 Chapter Titles In Phil Jackson's Autobiography"
You can be serious, but we are looking for a lighthearted angle. Perhaps something about Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant -- or Dennis Rodman and Ron Artest. Perhaps a message to the referees now that they can't touch him. They are just chapter titles, so you can be broad or specific, whatever works.
The drill is unchanged. Send your chapter titles to email@example.com -- including your first name, the initial of your last name and your location. Your deadline is noon Wednesday, and the list will appear here Thursday.
If you were Phil Jackson, what would you write about? And don't say "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" because that's already taken.
