Players selected for U-19 training camp

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Six weeks after winning the national championship, Connecticut's Jeremy Lamb was among 17 players invited to USA Basketball's Under-19 training camp.

Two sets of teammates were on the roster released Friday. Allen Crabbe and Richard Solomon of California were chosen, as were Patric Young and incoming freshman Brad Beal of Florida.

Crabbe was the Pac-10 freshman of the year while Doug McDermott of Creighton won the same honor in the Missouri Valley Conference.

The team, which will compete in FIBA's U-19 World Championship being held June 30-July 10 in three cities in Latvia, will be coached by Paul Hewitt, who recently took over at George Mason.

The training camp will be June 17-24 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
