Joe Blanton scratched from start

Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Joe Blanton was scratched minutes from his start against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night because of soreness in his right elbow.

Kyle Kendrick started in Blanton's place and allowed two homers to Jason Giambi in the first three innings. Blanton missed two starts with an elbow injury earlier this season and was 1-1 in two starts after returning from the disabled list.
