Alberto Callaspo injures hamstring

By Mark Saxon

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Los Angeles Angels third baseman Alberto Callaspo left Saturday night's game with the Kansas City Royals in the seventh inning after pulling his left hamstring stealing second base.

Callaspo, acquired last July in a trade with the Royals, was batting .285 with three home runs and 28 RBIs, third-most on the team. If Callaspo goes on the 15-day disabled list, the Angels probably would use utility man Maicer Izturis as the everyday third baseman and recall infielder Alexi Amarista from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Callaspo was batting .300 with runners in scoring position. The Angels, who had lost six in a row entering Saturday's game, were batting .229 in that category as a team.
