Next up in our series of year-in-review photo galleries is Grant Gunderson, a Washington-based photographer and photo editor of The Ski Journal. "If I had to sum up last winter with just one word it would be: powder," says Gunderson. "Last season was pretty surreal for me. I had the trip of a lifetime to Japan along with Zack Giffin, KC Deane, Adam Ü, Duncan Adams and Ian Fohrman for the 100-year anniversary of skiing there. While we where there it snowed like I had never seen it snow before, and we had three consecutive deepest days of our lives."
When Gunderson returned to the U.S., the snow kept coming. "While the Pacific Northwest was in midst of its biggest storm cycle since the world record year, I met up with Salomon Freeski TV to shoot Elyse Saugstad, Leo Ahrens, Cody Townsend and Mark Abma in the best conditions I have ever seen in the PNW." He finished the season off with a film trip with Poor Boyz Productions to Mica Heli to shoot Riley Leboe and Bene Mayr.
