What Gunner Kiel means to IU

If you are going to build a team from the inside-out, the QB is the right place to start and so is Gunner Kiel. For Indiana coach Kevin Wilson this is a huge coup not only because Kiel is a premier player at the most important position, but also because he is an in-state prospect.

Obviously there is a lineage within the program with Kiel's brother Dusty playing for the Hoosiers, and that certainly helps, but this move will resonate with other Midwest prospects. That can't be overlooked and could get other prospects to perceive the Indiana program differently.

Kiel is a great looking, physical prospect who is very deceptive athletically. He can make all the throws and has a high ceiling for development. Now Indiana must surround him with the necessary pieces to succeed.
