Bikes Over Baghdad tour hits midwest


Chicago, Ill. via Neenah, Wis. native Brian Kachinsky will perform demos with Bikes Over Baghdad in both Chicago and Milwaukee.

Following five overseas trips to perform BMX demos at American military bases in Iraq, Kuwait and other undisclosed American military locations, the Bikes Over Baghdad crew is kicking off their first U.S.-based tour this month with free live demos at the Craftsman Experience in Chicago, Ill., followed by the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wis.

Beginning, Friday, August 12, the Bikes Over Baghdad crew will visit the Craftsman Experience in Chicago, Ill., performing demos throughout the afternoon, and continuing on Saturday, August 13. Prior to the show, pro ramp builder Nate Wessel and his team will use Craftsman tools to construct the ramps on site. Athletes scheduled to attend include Brian Kachinsky, Jeremiah Smith, Mykel Larrin, announcer Micah Kranz and special guests.

The riders will perform demos on Friday night (6:30 p.m. CST) and Saturday (5 p.m. CST), and will be available for meet and greets throughout the day with fans.

The following weekend, August 20-21, the Bikes Over Baghdad team visits the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wis. to perform additional demos throughout the weekend for BOB supporters Harley-Davidson. Riders scheduled to appear in Milwaukee include Wisconsin natives Brian Kachinsky, Mykel Larrin and Micah Kranz; as well as Nate Wessel, Drew Bezanson, Jeremiah Smith and Rob Darden.

"It's always really fun for us to meet our fans, and we're looking forward to coming back to the Harley-Davidson Museum this month," said Kachinsky. "The energy there last year was incredible! We'll definitely be bringing our best -- so get ready, Milwaukee."

The shows will be held at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21. There are also plenty of highlights in between, including entertainment, food, giveaways and much more. The event is included with Museum admission and is free for Museum members. Admission is $16 for adults, $10 for children aged 5-17, and $12 for college students (with valid I.D.), military and seniors (65+.)

"Watching these guys perform is unlike anything I've ever seen," said Bill Davidson, Vice President of the Harley-Davidson Museum. "These athletes have traveled to some amazing locations to perform for the men and women in the military, and we are honored to have them come to the Harley-Davidson Museum again. Our visitors are in for something really special."

Bikes Over Baghdad has been overseas five times in the past two years, including stops in Iraq, Kuwait, and other undisclosed Middle Eastern locations, where they visited American military bases to perform BMX demos as a thank you to troops.
