Drew, who was a member of Georgia's much-heralded "Dream Team" recruiting class this year, was injured on his way home from church Sunday and was evaluated and treated at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Ga.
Georgia director of Sports Medicine Ron Courson said Drew is "day to day" for returning to practice.
Drew, of Thomasville, Ga., was rated as the second-best defensive end and the No. 13 prospect in the 2011 recruiting class by ESPN recruiting services.As a junior, he registered 72 tackles, including 16 tackles for loss and seven sacks, and forced three fumbles.
Drew is Georgia's second highly touted freshman to suffer an injury in the last few days. Running back Isaiah Crowell was held out of practice Friday and Saturday with a strained groin.Georgia coach Mark Richt said the injury wasn't considered serious, but didn't know when Crowell would return to practice.
