Putting debate strikes Twitter chord

Every Tuesday and Friday, ESPN.com's Michael Collins (@ESPNCaddie) will deep-dive into the vast world of golf on Twitter. From players to caddies to wives and more, he'll share his take on the best of the best.

First-time PGA Tour champion Webb Simpson (@webbsimpson1) and his caddie Paul Tesori (@_Soki_) both are Twitter veterans. Webb couldn't sleep Sunday night after his win at the Wyndham Championship and had been tweeting into the wee hours of the morning. Tesori, a veteran caddie formerly with Sean O'Hair and Vijay Singh, had no such troubles, proving that no matter how good a win is, carrying a 40-pound bag seven miles a day always triumphs insomnia!

AP golf writer Doug Ferguson might be starting a tweet fight with the LPGA's Twitter queen, Christina Kim (@TheChristinaKim), and U.S. women's golf with this little jab.

Not sure if this speaks to small schedule or state of U.S. golf on LPGA but C. Kim qualified Solheim despite not finishing top 12 all year.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet Reply

Yes, it's true, but ouch!! At least he was smart enough not to use her twitter name so she won't see it in her @mentions column… until now (insert your own evil laugh here!).

Belly putters win in back-to-back weeks, but it still hasn't changed Arron Oberholser's opinion.

No offense, but for me, the only thing a belly putter is good for is beating rabid animals.less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPad Favorite Retweet Reply

And the response from @Keegan_Bradley's agent, Ben Harrison:

@ArronOberholser since 2 of my guys have won with belly putters, and one of those wins was a Major… i am in favor! I have switched myself!less than a minute ago via Twitter for Android Favorite Retweet Reply

And now to the medal stand!

Bronze medal: Billy Spencer, caddie for Jason Bohn, showed people just how glamorous travel can be on tour after missing out on the FedEx Cup playoffs because of the finish at the Wyndham.

Putted out in Greensboro @ 530 eastern time. 2 rentals, 2 flights and one major delay - walking in the front door in Dallas-4:41am central.less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

Silver medal: First shout-out to a tour wife -- Richelle Baddeley, wife of Aaron Baddeley. It should be said that she is one of the hottest wives out on tour, and on proud hubby @aaronbadds' arm, they make a model-like couple. But don't get it twisted: This mother of two wants to stay in model shape, and apparently Bubba and Angie Watson are sharing a house with the Baddeleys this week.

@angieb1433 @bubbawatson hey roomies u know if there is a gym close to us next week?! #toomanychipsandsalsa #bootcampless than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

Gold medal: If you're not following Steve Elkington you missed some of the funniest golf tweets of all time. @elkpga started an old-school/new-school conversation that went on for … well, it's still going. My favorite one:

I'm putting bad Old school= let me try that mallet putter in your trunk New school= I got to visit my psychologist about commitment #golfless than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply
