Belleville East junior guard Malcolm Hill committed to Illinois on Monday.

Hill, a 6-foot-5 guard, chose the Illini over Kansas State, Missouri and Xavier. He is ranked No. 58 in the Class of 2013 ESPNU Super 60 and the No. 13 shooting guard in the class.

"I chose Illinois because it's a home-state school, so it would be great for my family to come see me," Hill said. "Also, because they have a great academic program and strong alumni. I like coach (Bruce) Weber's motion system. They also play fast-paced, which I like. It was the right fit for me."

Hill's commitment comes on the heels of Crete-Monee senior point guard Michal Orris' pledge to Illinois. Orris committed on Sunday.

Hill should provide Illinois with its future shooting guard. With Orris' commitment, Illinois freshman Tracy Abrams and fellow Class of 2013 commitment Jalen James, the Illini will have plenty of point guards to choose from.

"He has a sweet mid-range game with range to the arc," ESPN recruiting analyst Reggie Rankin said. "He's capable of big numbers. He's a true shooting guard with a great upside. He will be hard to guard off screens and in space in the Illinois motion offense."

Illinois now has two Class of 2013 commitments.
