DK Bicycles' Brian Hunt -- Trail Boss

This weekend, DK Bicycles pro Brian Hunt is shredding the trails at the Red Bull Dreamline contest in Wabasha, Minn. But before he headed North, we caught up with Brian amid a trails trip to get the lowdown on his latest setup, riding for DK and what's next on the B Hunt radar. Here's Brian. You always seem to have a pretty dialed in bike how long do you normal ride a bike before getting a new one?
Hunt: When your bike feels good, you're probably going to ride better and enjoy it more so I try to keep my bike pretty dialed. I usually ride my frames, forks, and bars for about a year. The last 2 bikes I've had I've been really psyched on the color-way so I ride it until I'm sick of it.

What parts do you go through the fastest?
The usual, grips, tubes, brake cables. Lately I have been lacing up new wheels more often than usual just because I love the feeling of a brand new straight wheel and just from beating on them.

You've been a part of the DK family for quite some time now. Are there any big plans for the future?
It's been amazing to have been a part of the family for five years now and I couldn't be happier. We just did a signature color-way complete bike for 2011 and it came out rad. There's a few things in the works but you'll have to wait and see. There's been talk of a trip to Australia in the future but I'm sure there will be others as well. All the dudes are always on the move -- it's awesome.

You're constantly traveling and riding tons of cool spots. What's stuck out in your eyes over the past year?
I've been so blessed to have the opportunity to travel as much as I do and this year and it's been awesome. Riding Austin for a month and going down to Eastside was so much fun. The dudes had them so dialed and I had the best time out there cruising everyday. Another spot that got me beyond excited was Red Bull's Dreamline in Wabasha Minn. Anthony Napolitan had the craziest trails/dirt jumps built into a ski resort mountain and kept it secret for months. I was one of the first to ride it and it was truly an honor. The jumps are so big and fast it's like nothing you've ever ridden before.

Any thanks?
Thank you God for blessing me with everything in life, especially my health. Thanks to my parents, family, and friends for being so supportive no matter what. A huge thanks to all my sponsors for taking such good care of me all these years -- I seriously appreciate it a ton. Thanks to anyone who's let me ride their spot, let me crash on their couch, or helped me in any way.
