The St. Louis Cardinals were down to their final strike in Game 6 when David Freese smashed a tying two-run triple in the ninth. He went on to blast a walk-off homer in the 11th, keeping St. Louis' season alive. In Game 7, Freese came through again, finishing the night 1-for-2 with two RBIs and taking home a well-deserved World Series MVP trophy.
In other words, Case Keenum could throw nine touchdowns and not touch Freese's spot at the top of these ranking.
The tricky part for our panel was weighing the other standout performances of the week. Was Ben Roethlisberger's dismantling of the New England Patriots' defense more powerful than Landry Jones setting multiple school records against Kansas State?
