IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys inside linebacker Sean Lee expects to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills while wearing a protective cast over his left wrist, but running back Felix Jones does not seem as close to playing.

Lee dislocated his wrist two weeks ago while tackling Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick and was forced him to miss last week's game against Seattle.

But Lee is determined to play this Sunday and returned to practice on Wednesday wearing a white cast in the shape of a club.

"It felt good," said Lee, who was listed as limited on the Cowboys injury report. "I felt more comfortable than I thought out there with the cast so it's kind of transitioning on how to use it, make it functional, but I felt pretty good. I didn't feel hesitant."

Jones did not practice on Wednesay. He has missed the last three games with a high left ankle sprain suffered at New England on Oct. 16 and has seen rookie DeMarco Murray explode with 466 rushing yards, including a franchise-record 253 against St. Louis.

Coach Jason Garrett said Monday he was hopeful Jones would be able to practice this week. He has been running and doing some cutting, according to Garrett, but Murray's play has allowed the Cowboys to take their time with Jones.

As an example of the time needed to return from a high-ankle sprain, cornerback Orlando Scandrick missed three games earlier this season with the injury.

Jones would only say about his status: "Every day is a good day. I know that."

Lee said he can't allow his fingers to be exposed because if they get bent it could affect the wrist area, which still has some swelling. Lee will have to stab at defenders with his left hand and grab and move them with his right hand.

"I still think I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't this restrictive as I thought it would be," Lee said. "But it's still different and it's still going to take time to get people."

The Cowboys had five players listed on the injury report who did not practice: Jones, wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring), cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring), tackle Jermey Parnell (back) and guard Kyle Kosier (foot).

Mat McBriar (foot) was limited in practice but he did punt.
