Prince Amukamara makes debut
By Ohm Youngmisuk
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The long-anticipated debut of Prince Amukamara finally came Sunday night as the New York Giants' first-round pick was active for the Eagles game.
Also, rookie linebacker Mark Herzlich made his first start with linebacker Michael Boley out. Herzlich has yet to play a defensive snap since he has been used exclusively on special teams. But with Boley out, Herzlich got the call ahead of rookie Greg Jones.
The Giants inactives included Boley (hamstring), running back Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), rookie wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan, rookie offensive lineman James Brewer, rookie fullback Henry Hynoski, offensive lineman Mitch Petrus and defensive tackle Dwayne Hendricks.
Amukamara has been out since breaking his foot in his second practice of training camp in August after a contract holdout. He traveled with the team to New England and San Francisco the past two weeks but was listed as inactive both times.
The Eagles were without quarterback Michael Vick (ribs) and receiver Jeremy Maclin (shoulder and hamstring). Vince Young started for Vick and Riley Cooper replaced Maclin.
