After undergoing surgery this week for a detached retina, New York Giants starting left tackle Will Beatty will miss at least the next month and possibly the rest of the season, according to a source familiar with the injury.
Beatty was hurt in the Giants' Week 11 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He realized he had an issue with his eye this week when he went to look down and could not see his nose. The Giants sent an eye doctor to his apartment Wednesday, and the doctor discovered that Beatty had a detached retina that required surgery on his right eye Thursday.
Beatty will be re-evaluated later and how quickly his eye heals will determine how quickly he returns.
